March 1, 2021

 

• WEC Energy Group (WEC) to acquire 90% ownership of Jayhawk Wind Farm; Jayhawk will generate renewable energy that will be sold under long-term contract to Facebook. The Jayhawk site will consist of 70 GE wind turbines with a combined capacity of more than 190 megawatts.

 

March 2, 2021

 

• Fortum Corporation (FORTUM) and RDIF to build the largest solar power plant in Russia; FORTUM and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) will build a 116 MW solar power plant in Kalmykia in Southern Russia. When commissioned, it will be the largest solar power plant in Russia.

 

• Target Corporation (TGT) Reports Fourth Quarter and Full-Year 2020 Earnings; TGT reports GAAP EPS of $2.73, a 67.7% increase from the prior year and $0.29 above estimates. Revenue grew 21.1% to $28.34 billion, topping expectations by $920 million. Store comparable sales increased 6.9%. Digital comparable sales grew 118%.

 

• Kontoor Brands, Inc. (KTB) Reports Fourth Quarter and Fiscal 2020 Results; KTB reports GAAP EPS of $0.74, an increase of 48% but $0.07 lower than expected. Revenue grew 1.3 % to $660.87 million, which was $21.53 million more than expected.

 

March 3, 2021

 

• General Dynamics Corporation (GD) Board Increases Dividend; GD declared a regular quarterly dividend of $1.19 per share on the company’s common stock, payable May 7, 2021, to shareholders of record on April 9, 2021. This is the 24th consecutive annual dividend increase authorized by the General Dynamics board, and represents an 8.2% increase over last year’s dividend.

 

• Scotiabank (BNS) announces the sale of its operations in Guyana; BNS announced that it has reached an agreement for the sale of its banking operations in Guyana to First Citizens Bank Limited (“First Citizens”). The agreement is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.

 

March 4, 2021

 

• Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (AQN) Announces 2020 Fourth Quarter and Full Year Financial Results; AQN reports GAAP EPS of $0.84, a 147% increase from the prior year and $0.62 above estimates. Revenue grew 11.9% to $492.4 million, which was $30.78 million lower than expected.

 

March 5, 2021

 

• Chevron Corporation (CVX) Announces Agreement to Acquire Noble Midstream Partners; CVX and Noble Midstream Partners, LP announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement for Chevron to acquire all (33.925 million) of the publicly held common units representing the limited partner interests in Noble Midstream, not already owned by Chevron. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, subject to customary approvals.
