Dividend Increase #34 & #35 of 2021 - QCOM & WPC

Wednesday, March 10th the Board of Directors of Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.65 to $ 0.68 per share and will be effective for quarterly dividends payable after March 25, 2021. This represents a 4.62% increase over the last quarterly dividend.

Steve Mollenkopf, CEO of Qualcomm Incorporated, said, "We are pleased to announce an increase in our quarterly dividend, reflecting our strong financial performance and continued commitment to returning capital to stockholders."

With current price $ 131.64 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 2.07%.

Qualcomm is a Dividend Contenders with an 18 year streak of dividend increases. Dividend growth rates for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years are 3.6, 4.7, 6.7 and 13.3 (Dividend Champions.xls)

Since I own 25 shares of QCOM, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 2.24.

This increase was disappointing to me, I was expecting an increase of about eight percent, but even this is better than nothing.

This is the third dividend increase I've received from Digital Realty since initiating a position in June 2017. During that period, the quarterly dividend has grown moderately from $ 0.57 to $ 0.68, or 19.3 percent.

This increase raises my YOC to 5.20%.

Thursday, March 11th the Board of Directors of W. P. Carey Inc. (WPC) announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 1.046 to $ 1.048 per share that’s payable April 15, 2021 to holders of record March 31, 2021. This represents a 0.77% increase year-over-year and 0.19% increase to the last quarter dividend. W. P. Carey typically increases the dividend every three months.

With current price $ 70.00 (today's open), this raise brings their dividend yield to 5.99%.

WPC is a Dividend Contenders with a 24 year streak of dividend increases. Dividend growth rates for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years are 0.8, 1.2, 1.7 and 7.5 (Dividend Champions.xls)

Since I own 70 shares of W. P. Carey, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 0.42.

This increase was in line with my expectations.

I have received many increases from WPC since initiating a position in June 2015. During that period, the quarterly dividend has grown modestly from $ 0.90 to $ 1.048, or 16.4 percent.

This increase raises my YOC to 6.75%.
