Recent Buy - AbbVie Inc. (ABBV)


On Friday, August 23, I bought 10 shares of  AbbVie Inc. at $ 66.45 per share plus commission.


My overall cost basis of this position decreases from $ 68.87 to $ 68.61 per share. I totally hold now 80 shares of ABBV and my yield on cost is 6.24%. You can look at my first purchase of ABBV here.

Recent Buy - Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP)


Friday August 23, I bought 73 shares of Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. (BIP) at $ 45.98 per share plus commission.


Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P. owns and operates utilities, transport, energy, and data infrastructure businesses. 
The Utilities segment operates approximately 2,000 kilometers (km) of natural gas transportation pipelines in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, and Minas Gerais; approximately 2,200 km of electricity transmission lines in North and South America; and approximately 6.6 million electricity and natural gas connections and 1.1 million smart meters, as well as operates metallurgical coal export terminals. 
The Transport segment offers transportation, storage, and handling services for freight, bulk commodities, and passengers through a network of 5,500 km of track network in south of Western Australia; approximately 4,800 km of rail in South America; approximately 4,200 km of motorways in Brazil, Chile, Peru, and India; and 37 port terminals in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe.

Dividend Increase – Scotiabank (BNS)



Today, August 27st the Board of Directors of Scotiabank announced a quarterly dividend increase of from CA$ 0.87 to CA$ 0.90 per share that’s payable October 29, 2019 to holders of record October 1, 2019. This represents a 5.88% increase year-over-year and 3.45% increase to the last quarter dividend. With current price CA$ 67.77 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 5.31%.

Since I own 155 shares of BNS, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by CA$ 13.86.

This increase raises my YOC to 5.70%.

Dividend Increase – Altria Group, Inc. (MO)



On Thursday, August 22nd the Board of Directors of Altria Group, Inc. announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.80 to $ 0.84 per share that’s payable October 10, 2019 to holders of record September 16, 2019. This represents a 5.0% increase to regular quarterly dividends.

“We are extremely proud of Altria’s fifty-year history of dividend growth,” said Howard Willard, Altria’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “Over the past half century, Altria has demonstrated its steadfast commitment to rewarding shareholders despite numerous shifts in the tobacco landscape. Today, we remain focused on our shareholders as we lead the industry through a period of evolution.”

With current price $ 46.41 (Monday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 7.24%.

Since I own 175 shares of MO, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 20.86.

Dividend Increase – Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM)



Yesterday, August 22nd the Board of Directors of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce announced a quarterly dividend increase of from CA$ 1.40 to CA$ 1.44 per share that’s payable October 28, 2019 to holders of record September 27, 2019. This represents a 5.88% increase year-over-year and 2.86% increase to the last quarter dividend. With current price CA$ 101.60 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 5.35%.

Since I own 29 shares of CM, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by CA$ 3.46.

Dividend Increase – Royal Bank of Canada (RY)



Today the Board of Directors of Royal Bank of Canada announced a quarterly dividend increase of from CA$ 1.02 to CA$ 1.05 per share that’s payable November 22, 2019 to holders of record October 24, 2019. This represents an 7.14% increase year-over-year and 2.94% increase to the last quarter dividend. With current price CA$ 99.34 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 4.23%.

Since I own 120 shares of RY, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by CA$ 10.73.

Dividend Increase – Illinois Tool Works Inc (ITW)



Yesterday August 2, the Board of Directors of Illinois Tool Works Inc. announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 1.00 to $ 1.07 per ordinary share that’s payable October 9, 2019 to holders of record September 30, 2019. This represents a 7.00% increase to regular quarterly dividends.

This increase is consistent with the company’s previously announced plan to increase its dividend payout ratio to approximately 50 percent of free cash flow.

With current price $ 151.67 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 2.82 %.
