Dividend Income - May 2023

The month has passed again, it is already midsummer time and we are slowly starting to go towards autumn, it is time to report my dividend income. In May 2023 my portfolio dividend income was as follows:

My Total dividends in May are €2,007.21 ($2,181.21). After taxes, my net dividend income is €1,488.70 ($1,617.81). In year 2022, my net dividend income in May was €1,925.70 ($2,040.97). My portfolio's net dividend income decreased by €437.00 or 22.7% to compared the same month of previous year. Compared to the previous year, there have been several changes to the dividend income of May: SAMPO AND TEL2 did not pay an extra dividend this year. Two new dividend payers have joined to the portfolio, namely PG and ALLY and LAZ has left it, additional purchase such VZ, TXN, MED, POW.TO, O and MAIN. Compared to a year ago, the holdings also included some solid dividend increases like CVS, WRK, UNM, ITW and NTR but unfortunately also dividend cut from SDIV.

This net passive income of €1,488.70 means that I received a reasonable €48.02 every day or €2.00 per every hour during May, no matter what I did. For the first five months of the year, the corresponding amounts are are €61.78 per day and €2.57 per hour.

This month's dividend increased my cumulative net dividend income € 143,642.95.

Net income / expenditure

  • Net passive income for May was €1,488.70, for the first five months it totals €9,328.06

  • Total expenditure for May was €1,652.69, for the first five months it totals €7,061.74

  • The result for May was €-163.99, for the first five months it totals €2,266.32

I have now collected 41.5% of my target net passive income for this year, which is € 22,500.00. After a few dividend cut announcements such as AQN, INTC and VFC and the weakening of the dollar, it is already clear that I will not reach my target in euros this year. At the moment it looks like I will miss my target by about €1000.
