  • Brookfield Renewable (BEP; BEPC) Acknowledges Result of the Origin Energy Shareholder Vote; Brookfield Asset Management (BAM), together with its listed affiliate BEP acknowledges the announcement today by Origin Energy Limited (ASX: ORG) of the result of Origin’s shareholder vote in respect of the previously announced Scheme of Arrangement with Brookfield, its institutional investors, and EIG. Origin’s shareholders voted 69% in favor of the transaction, which was short of the required 75% approval level required.



  • RTX Corporation (RTX) awarded a single award, firm-fixed-price, multi-year contract in the amount of $321M for continued production and delivery of Silent Knight Radar systems and initial spare components in support of Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).

  • CVS Health Corporation (CVS) Increases Quarterly Dividend; CVS announced that its board of directors has approved a quarterly dividend of sixty-six and a half cents ($0.665 cents) per share, an approximate 10% increase from sixty and a half cents ($0.605 cents) per share. The dividend is payable on February 1, 2024, to holders of record on January 22, 2023.

  • AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) to Acquire Cerevel Therapeutics; ABBV and Cerevel Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CERE) today announced a definitive agreement under which AbbVie will acquire Cerevel Therapeutics and its robust neuroscience pipeline of multiple clinical-stage and preclinical candidates with potential across several diseases including schizophrenia, Parkinson's disease (PD), and mood disorders. Under the terms of the transaction, AbbVie will acquire all outstanding shares of Cerevel for $45.00 per share in cash. The transaction values Cerevel at a total equity value of approximately $8.7 billion. The boards of directors of both companies have approved the transaction. This transaction is expected to close in the middle of 2024, subject to Cerevel shareholder approval, regulatory approvals, and other customary closing conditions.


  • Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (BMY) Announces Dividend Increase; BMY announced that its Board of Directors has declared a quarterly dividend of sixty cents ($0.60) per share on the $0.10 par value common stock of the company. The dividend is payable on February 1, 2024, to stockholders of record at the close of business on January 5, 2024. This quarterly dividend represents a 5.3% increase over last year’s quarterly rate of fifty-seven cents ($0.57) per share.


  • Canadian National Railway Company (CNI) to Acquire Iowa Northern Railway; CNI announced that it has signed and closed an agreement to acquire Iowa Northern Railway (IANR), which operates approximately 275 track miles in Iowa connecting to CN’s U.S. rail network. The transaction closed into an independent voting trust pending regulatory review of the transaction by the U.S. Surface Transportation Board (STB). The terms of this transaction were not disclosed.

  • NCC AB (NCC) reinforces Skandia Harbour in Gothenburg; NCC is now beginning work to reinforce Skandia Harbour in Gothenburg, the largest port in Scandinavia. The assignment is part of preparations to accommodate larger container vessels. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering form on behalf of the Port of Gothenburg. The order value is just over SEK 1 billion.



  • W. P. Carey Inc. (WPC) Reduces Quarterly Dividend; WPC reported that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.860 per share, 19.7% decrease from prior dividend of $1.07, reflecting both the Company's strategic plan to exit the office assets within its portfolio. The dividend is payable on January 16, 2024 to stockholders of record as of December 29, 2023.
