Friday, February 17th the Board of Directors of NextEra Energy, Inc. (NEE) announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $0.425 to $0.4675 per share that’s payable March 15, 2023 to holders of record February 28, 2023. This represents a 10.0% increase over the last quarter dividend.
With current price $73.94 (today's open), this raise brings their dividend yield to 2.53%.
NextEra Energy is a Dividend Champions with a 29 year streak of dividend increases. Dividend growth rates for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years are 10.4, 10.8, 11.6 and 11.0 (Dividend Champions.xls)
Since I own 30 shares of NEE, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $3.80.
This increase was in line with my expectations.
This is the first dividend increase I've received from NextEra Energy since initiating a position in February 2022.
This increase raises my YOC to 2.53%.
