Dividend Income - May 2020

A month has passed again and it is time to report my dividend income. In May 2020 my portfolio dividend income was as follows:

My Total dividends in May are € 3,508.18 ($ 3,802.60). After tax payments, net dividend income is € 2,609.66 ($ 2,828.62). In year 2019, my net dividend income in May was € 838.87 ($ 939.46). My portfolio's net dividend income increased by € 1,770.79 or 211.1% to compared the same month of last year. The main reason for this is the corona virus epidemic. Several companies like Fortum, Neste, Orion and Kesko postponed the annual general meetings and due to this, the dividend payment was also postponed. So those companies paid annual dividends in May, and not in April, as usual.

This month's dividend increased my cumulative net dividend income € 85,335.72.

After May my net dividend income is € 7,936.47 ($ 8,678.97), so I have now collected 44% of my target net passive income for this year, which is €18,000.00. As I have mentioned earlier some companies of my portfolio have already cut, postponed or cancelled dividend payments. Because of this, it is highly unlikely that I will reach my target for dividend income in 2020. I'm pretty sure that the unpleasant news will be more during the summer and the rest of the year. However, I will continue, according to my own plan and make purchases from what I think are good dividend-paying companies. One day, even this crisis will be over and then the return to the “normal” situation starts. When it will happen, time will show.

You can follow the development of my dividends here.

Full Disclosure: Long on above mentioned stocks, excluding ORI.ST and AMLP

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hawk -

Holy smokes, that's a TON of dividend income, even though there was a shift in the month you received on a few entities.

Yes, I brace every day for dividend news at this time. Can't wait to get through this, as well.

  2. Massive income. Congratulations!
