Dividend Increase - Eaton Corporation plc (ETN)



Wednesday, February 27, the Board of Directors of power management company Eaton announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.66 to $ 0.71 per ordinary share that’s payable March 22, 2019 to holders of record March 9, 2019. This represents a 7.58 % increase to regular quarterly dividends. With current price $ 81.25 (today's open), this raise brings their dividend yield to 3.50 %.

Since I own 30 shares of ETN, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 4.47.



This increase raises my YOC to 4.51%.

  1. I had completely forgotten about ETN. I had my eye on them for a while but then the share price never came back down so I moved on to better value propositions. Great to see a 7.5% increase from ETN and congrats on the raise!

  2. Long time holder of ETN here, DH. I'm a little perplexed when they dub their dividend a "return of capital". I like the tax benefit, but not sure I understand why they can't just pay dividends out of cash flow. Tom
