On Friday October 12, I bought 40 shares of Fortis Inc.
at CA$ 40.95 per share plus commission.
My overall cost basis of this position decreases from CA$
41.97 to CA$ 41.71 per share. I totally hold now 140 shares of FTS and my yield
on cost is 4.08%. You can look at my first purchase of FTS here.
Details of my purchase:
With current quarterly dividend (CA$ 0.425), my last
purchase 40 shares of FTS increases € 21.21 (CA$ 50.66) of expected annual net
dividend income. At today's exchange rate, this purchase will increase my
portfolio projected annual net dividend income approximately to € 13,530.00.
After this acquisition, FTS's weight of my portfolio is about 0.91% and its
share of future annual dividend income is approximately 0.87%. My purpose is
slowly to continue to build up FTS's share of my portfolio.

Hi hawk. First thanks for your blog. Can I ask you why you choose Fortis over Canadian utilities? I see you have both on your portfolio. Im long CU since many years, considered Fortis also many times but never bought. At the moment buying more CU since the yield is irresistible :) Looking forward to hear your motivation. Cheers
ReplyDeleteHi, I chose Fortis because now it was its turn, on Monday of the same week I purchased the Canadian Utilities.
