On Tuesday,
November 4th, Main Street Capital Corporation (MAIN) announced
that its Board of Directors approved a monthly dividend increase from
$0.255 to $0.26 per share. The dividend will be payable on January
15, 2026, to shareholders of record as of January 8, 2026. This marks
a 1.96% increase over the previous monthly dividend and a 4.0%
increase from the regular monthly dividends paid in the first quarter
of 2025.
In addition, the Board declared a supplemental cash
dividend of $0.30 per share, payable in December 2025, further
underscoring Main Street’s consistent track record of delivering
value to shareholders.
At the current price of $58.70 (yesterday's close), this increase will raise MAIN's dividend yield to 5.32%.

As an owner of 155 shares of MAIN, the recent dividend increase adds $6.93 to my projected annual net dividend income.
I was expecting a half-cent increase, which has now been implemented, and together with the supplemental dividend paid quarterly, I’m very satisfied with the outcome.
This marks the 13th dividend increase I’ve received from Main Street Capital since initiating my position in November 2018. During that time, the company’s monthly dividend has grown in line with expectations from $0.195 to $0.26 per share, representing a cumulative increase of 33.3%.
As of this writing, Main Street Capital represents approximately 1.04% of my portfolio by weight and contributes about 1.33% to my projected annual dividend income.
Following this increase, my yield on cost is 8.14%.
