  • Mandatum plc (MANTA) Reports Results for the Second Quarter of 2024; MANTA reports second quarter earnings per share of €0.12, 46% above last year's result and €0.04 more than expected. Profit before taxes grew 57% to €75.8 million, beating estimates by €26.2 million. Client assets under management increased by 16% from the previous year and amounted to €13.0 billion. Solvency II ratio adjusted for dividend accrual was 224.1%.


  • The Home Depot, Inc. (HD) Announces Second Quarter Fiscal 2024 Results; HD reports Q2 Non-GAAP EPS of $4.67, 0.2% below from last year but $0.12 more than expected. Revenue grew 0.7% to $43.2 billion, topping estimates $490 million. Management updated fiscal 2024 guidance, Total sales to increase between 2.5% and 3.5% and adjusted diluted earnings-per-share to decline between 1% and 3%.



  • Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) names Brian Niccol as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer; SBUX announced that Brian Niccol has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer. Niccol will start in his new role on September 9, 2024. Starbucks chief financial officer, Rachel Ruggeri, will serve as interim ceo until that time. Mellody Hobson, Starbucks board chair, will become lead independent director. Laxman Narasimhan is stepping down from his role as ceo and as a member of the Starbucks board with immediate effect.

  • Kesko Corporation (KESKO) expand operations in Denmark; KESKO has agreed to acquire three builders’ merchants in Denmark: Roslev Trælasthandel A/S, Tømmergaarden A/S, and CF Petersen & Søn A/S. The combined net sales of the three operators total some €400 million. The transactions are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.


  • Kesko Corporation’s (KESKO) sales in July; KESKO’s sales increased by 7.4% in July. Sales increased in the grocery trade division and the building and technical trade division, and decreased in the car trade division.




  • Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (MPW) Sells 11 Colorado Facilities for $86 Million; MPW announced the completion of its sale of 11 freestanding emergency department (“FSED”), primary care, imaging and urgent care facilities in Colorado to University of Colorado Health (“UCHealth”) for $86 million. The Company intends to use the proceeds from the transaction to reduce debt and for general corporate purposes.


  • Metro Inc. (TSE:MRU) Reports 2024 Third Quarter Results; MRU reported quarterly adjusted earnings of C$1.35 per share for the quarter ended in June, identical to the same quarter last year. Analysts expectation for the quarter was C$1.34 per share. Revenue rose 3.5% to $6.65 billion from a year ago, while analysts expected C$6.60 billion. Management is forecasting adjusted net earnings per share to be flat to down $0.10 in Fiscal 2024 and expects to resume its profit growth post Fiscal 2024. Management is maintaining its annual growth target of between 8% and 10% for net earnings per share over the medium and long term.

  • Avance Gas Holding Ltd (AVANCE) Sells its VLGC fleet to BW LPG Ltd; AVANCE has entered into an agreement with BW LPG Ltd ("BW LPG" or "the Buyer") to sell its fleet of Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGC) for a consideration of $1,050 million. The Avance Gas VLGC fleet today consist of eight 2015 built eco VLGCs and four dual fuelled VLGCs built 2022 and 2023. After the closing of this transaction,AVANCE will then be the owner of four medium sized gas carriers (MGC) capable of carrying full ammonia cargoes, a 12.77% shareholding in BW LPG as well as a substantial cash holding.


  • NN Group N.V. (AMS:NN) reports First Half 2024 Results; NN reports Operating Capital Generation €959 million, decreasing 3.9% compared first half of 2023. Solvency II ratio at 192% from 197% on 31 December 2023. Free cash flow up 8% year-on-year to €899 million. Committed to capital return policy of a progressive dividend per share and annual share buyback of at least €300 million, 2024 interim dividend of €1.28 per ordinary share.



  • Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) to Acquire Terran Orbital: LMT announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire Terran Orbital [NYSE: LLAP], a global leader of satellite-based solutions primarily supporting the aerospace and defense industries. The enterprise value of the transaction is approximately $450 million. Lockheed Martin will acquire Terran Orbital for $0.25 in cash for each outstanding share of common stock and retire its existing debt.

  • Flowers Foods, Inc. (FLO) Reports Second Quarter 2024 Results; FLO reports Q2 Non-GAAP EPS of $0.36, up 9.1% versus prior year and $0.03 ahead of estimates. Revenue of 1.23 billion misses analyst estimates by $10 million and flat with the comparison period. For the 52-week Fiscal 2024 Management guides Sales in the range of approximately $5.091 billion to $5.172 billion, representing 0.0% to 1.6% growth compared to the prior year and Adjusted diluted EPS in the range of approximately $1.20 to $1.30.
