- I purchased 30 shares of Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) at $ 51.81 per share plus commission.
At today's exchange rate that purchase 30 shares of VZ will increase € 49.13 of my expected annual net dividend income. My overall cost basis of this position decreases from $ 56.09 to $ 55.33 per share. I totally hold now 160 shares of Verizon and my yield on cost is 4.63%. After this acquisition, VZ’s weight of my portfolio is about 1.07% and its share of future annual dividend income is approximately 1.51%.

- I purchased 55 shares of Metro Inc. (MRU.TO) at CA$ 61.61 per share plus commission.

- TD Bank Group (TD) Comments on Expected Impact of the Charles Schwab Corporation's Third Quarter Earnings; TD announced that it expects The Charles Schwab Corporation's ("Schwab") third quarter earnings to translate into approximately CDN $224 million of reported equity in net income of an investment in Schwab for the Bank's fiscal 2021 fourth quarter. Excluding acquisition-related charges of approximately CDN $13 million after-tax and amortization of acquired intangibles of approximately CDN $34 million after-tax, adjusted equity in net income of an investment in Schwab will be approximately CDN $271 million.

- Neste Corporation (NESTE) to open an R&D center in Singapore; NESTE further accelerates the implementation of its growth strategy by establishing an R&D center in Singapore. With this investment, Neste aims to increase its R&D and innovation capabilities globally, and drive collaboration with partners in the Asia-Pacific region, especially in Singapore.
- Tele2 AB (TEL2) Interim Report Third Quarter; TEL2 reports EPS of SEK 1.62, a 8% decrease from the prior year. Revenue improved 2% to SEK 6,639 million.
- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) Reports Q3 2021 Results; JNJ reports Non-GAAP EPS of $2.60 beating analyst estimates by $0.25 and increasing 18.2% year-over-year. Revenue of $23.34 billion misses analyst estimates by $380 million but increases 10.7% versus the same quarter last year.
- Philip Morris International Inc. (PM) Reports 2021 Third-Quarter Results; PM reports Q3 Non-GAAP EPS of $1.58, a 11.3% improvement from the previous year and $0.02 above estimates. Revenue increased 9% to $8.12 billion, $190 million better than expected.
- Main Street Capital Corporation (MAIN) Announces Third Quarter 2021 Private Loan Portfolio Activity; MAIN announces recent activity in its private loan portfolio. During the third quarter of 2021, Main Street originated approximately $99.3 million in new private loan commitments across six new borrowers and funded total investments across its private loan portfolio with a cost basis totaling approximately $119.7 million.

- Orion Corporation (ORNBV) Interim Report 1–9/2021; ORNBV reports earnings per share of €0.32, 11.7% lower than the prior year. Revenue declined 3.7% to €240.9 million.
- Nordea Bank Abp (NDA-FI) announces commencement of share buy-back programme; the Board of Directors of NDA has decided to launch a share buy-back programme of up to EUR 2.0bn commencing on 22 October 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.
- Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ) Reports 3Q Results; VZ reports Non-GAAP EPS of $1.41, 12.8% higher than the prior year and $0.05 above estimates. Revenue improved 4.4% to $12.3 billion, which was $340 million below expectations.
- Kinder Morgan, Inc. (KMI) Announces Results for Third Quarter Of 2021; KMI reports Non-GAAP EPS of $0.24, $0.02 lower than expected. Revenue increased 30.8% to $3.82 billion, $590 million higher than expected.
- Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT) bags $207M aircraft modification contract for Naval Air Systems; LMT awarded a not-to-exceed ~$206.8M undefinitized modification (P00012) to a cost-plus-incentive-fee, cost-plus-fixed-fee order (0097) against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N0001914G0020).
- Magna International Inc. (MGA) Updates 2021 Outlook; MGA expect total sales for 2021 to be in the range of $35.4 to $36.4 billion, compared to $38.0 to $39.5 billion in our August outlook.

- Fortum Corporation’s (FORTUM) subsidiary Uniper to raise profit guidance for 2021; FORTUM’s subsidiary Uniper SE has today published a stock exchange release (‘ad-hoc’) with a positive update of its result guidance for 2021. Adjusted EBIT to EUR 1,050–1,300 million (previously: EUR 800–1,050 million). Adjusted Net Income (ANI) to EUR 850–1,050 million (previously EUR 650–850 million).
- Telia Company (TELIA) interim report January-September 2021; TELIA reports EPS of SEK 0.39, a 36.6% decrease from the prior year and SEK 0.06 lower than expected. Revenue decreased 1.2% to SEK 21,271 million, which was SEK 469 million higher than expected.
- Nordea Bank Abp (NDA-FI) Third-quarter results 2021; NDA reports earnings per share of €0.25, 19.1% higher than the prior year. Total operating income improved 9% to €2,344 million.
- AT&T Inc. (T) Reports Third-Quarter Results; T reports Non-GAAP EPS of $0.87, a 14.5% improvement from the previous year and $0.08 above estimates. Revenue decreased 5.7% to $39.9 billion, which was $250 million lower than expected.
- UGI Corporation (UGI) Receives Regulatory Approval for a Renewable Natural Gas Pilot Project; UGI has received regulatory approval from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (“PA PUC”) to purchase renewable natural gas as part of a five-year pilot program. The pilot, the first of its kind in Pennsylvania, is intended to explore how UGI Utilities can integrate renewable natural gas (RNG) into its supply portfolio to produce economic and environmental benefits for its Purchased Gas Cost (PGC) customers.
- Kontoor Brands, Inc. (KTB) Increase Quarterly Dividend; KTB’s Board of Directors has declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.46 per share of its common stock, an increase of $0.06 or 15 percent. The cash dividend will be payable on December 20, 2021, to shareholders of record at the close of business on December 10, 2021.
- Union Pacific Corporation (UNP) Reports Third Quarter 2021 Results; UNP GAAP EPS of $2.57 beats by $0.07 and a 28% improvement from the previous year. Revenue increased 13.2% to $5.57 billion, $180 million better than expected.
- Archer-Daniels-Midland Company (ADM) Reaches Agreement Sale of Peoria Dry Mill; ADM announced that it has reached an agreement to sell its ethanol production complex in Peoria, Illinois, to BioUrja Group.
October 22, 2021
- V.F. Corporation (VFC) Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2022 Results, Increase Quarterly Dividend; VFC reports second quarter Non-GAAP EPS of $1.11, $0.05 lower than expected. Revenue grew 22.2% to $3.19 billion, but was $300 million lower than expected. VF’s Board of Directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.50 per share, 2% increase from prior dividend of $0.49, payable on December 20, 2021, to shareholders of record on December 10, 2021.
- Realty Income Corporation (O) And VEREIT (VER) Announce Anticipated Closing Date For Merger; O and VER announced that they anticipate closing their previously announced merger on November 1, 2021. In addition, the Registration Statement on Form 10 associated with the previously announced plan to spin-off substantially all the office assets from Realty Income and VEREIT, filed under the newly created company Orion Office REIT Inc. (NYSE: ONL) ("Orion"), is effective as of today, October 22, 2021. Realty Income has declared November 2, 2021 as the record date for the spin-off and November 12, 2021 as the distribution date for the spin-off.
