Bank OZK (OZK) Dividend Increase: 65 Consecutive Quarterly Raises

On Thursday, October 1, the Board of Directors of Bank OZK (OZK) announced an increase in its quarterly dividend from $0.48 to $0.49 per share. The new dividend is payable on October 20, 2026, to shareholders of record as of October 13, 2026.

The 2.08% increase is the latest in a long series of quarterly dividend increases from Bank OZK. The company has now raised its quarterly dividend for 65 consecutive quarters.

On a year-over-year basis, the latest increase represents an 8.9% increase compared with the dividend paid during the same period last year. Bank OZK has continued to raise its dividend every quarter, demonstrating an impressive commitment to consistent dividend growth.

Current Dividend Yield and Income Impact

At the time of writing, Bank OZK shares trade at $46.71, based on yesterday’s closing price. Following the increase, the forward annual dividend is $1.96 per share, giving OZK a dividend yield of approximately 4.20%.

As an owner of 140 shares of Bank OZK, this dividend increase adds $4.17 to my projected annual net dividend income.

The increase was in line with my expectations, and I’m happy to accept another quarterly raise from OZK.

Long-Term Dividend Growth Track Record

Bank OZK is a Dividend Champion with a 30-year streak of dividend increases.

According to Dividend Champions data, OZK’s dividend growth rates over the 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year periods are approximately

  • 1-year: 10.1%
  • 3-year: 11.4%
  • 5-year: 10.1%
  • 10-year: 12.2%

These numbers highlight the company’s strong long-term dividend growth record. While the latest quarterly increase was only 2.08%, the year-over-year increase is considerably stronger at 8.9%.

Bank OZK also stands out for increasing its dividend every quarter. The latest raise marks the 65th consecutive quarterly dividend increase, an impressive record of consistency.

This is the eighth dividend increase I have received from Bank OZK since initiating my position in September 2024. During that time, the quarterly dividend has grown from $0.41 to $0.49 per share, representing a 19.5% increase.

At the time of writing, OZK represents approximately 0.64% of my portfolio, while its share of future annual dividend income is about 0.71%.

Following this increase, my yield on cost has risen to 4.87%.

Commentary

Bank OZK continues to deliver exactly what I have come to expect from the company: another quarterly dividend increase.

The latest 2.08% increase was in line with my expectations, and I’m happy to accept it. While the quarterly increase itself is relatively small, the more important figure is the year-over-year dividend growth of 8.9%.

The fact that Bank OZK has now increased its quarterly dividend for 65 consecutive quarters is particularly impressive. This consistency, combined with a 30-year annual dividend-growth streak, makes OZK an interesting dividend-growth holding.

Since I initiated my position in September 2024, the quarterly dividend has already increased from $0.41 to $0.49. That represents a 19.5% increase in just over two years.

Quick Valuation Take

At $46.71 per share, Bank OZK offers a forward dividend yield of approximately 4.20%.

That is an attractive starting yield for a company with a long history of dividend growth. The combination of a yield above 4% and a strong long-term dividend-growth record makes OZK particularly interesting for an income-focused portfolio.

The main attraction for me is not simply the current yield, but the combination of current income and the company’s history of regularly increasing the dividend.

Dividend Safety and Outlook

Bank OZK’s 30-year dividend-growth streak and 65 consecutive quarterly dividend increases demonstrate an exceptional level of consistency.

The company’s long-term dividend growth rates have also been strong, with approximately 10% annualized growth over the 1- and 5-year periods and more than 12% over the past decade.

The latest quarterly increase is smaller than those long-term averages, but the 8.9% year-over-year growth rate remains solid. As long as Bank OZK continues to maintain its strong financial performance, I expect the company’s quarterly dividend-growth pattern to remain an important part of the investment case.

For me, the regular quarterly increases are especially appealing because they provide frequent opportunities for the dividend income from my OZK position to grow.

Final Thoughts

Bank OZK delivered another dividend increase that was right in line with my expectations.

The 2.08% quarterly increase adds $4.17 to my projected annual net dividend income, while the year-over-year increase of 8.9% demonstrates that the company continues to deliver meaningful dividend growth.

With a 30-year dividend-growth streak and 65 consecutive quarterly dividend increases, Bank OZK has built an impressive track record of rewarding shareholders. Since I initiated my position in September 2024, the quarterly dividend has already increased by 19.5%.

I’m happy to continue collecting these quarterly raises and see where OZK’s dividend growth takes my position over the coming years.
