Dividend Increase #1 & #2 of 2021 - WEC & INTC

Yesterday, January 22nd the Board of Directors of WEC Energy Group (WEC) announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.6326 to $ 0.6775 per share that’s payable March 1, 2021 to holders of record February 14, 2021. This represents a 7.1% increase over the last quarterly dividend.

"With today's action by our board, 2021 will be the eighteenth consecutive year of dividend increases for our stockholders," said Gale Klappa, executive chairman. "We continue to target a dividend payout of 65 to 70 percent of earnings."

With current price $ 87.83 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 3.09%.

WEC is a Dividend Contenders with an 18 year streak of dividend increases. Dividend growth rates for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years are 7.2, 6.7, 7.7 and 12.2 (Dividend Champions.xls)

Since I own 15 shares of WEC, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 2.01.

The increase was in line with expectations, as the WEC announced back in December that they were planning a dividend of that size for the coming quarter.

This is the 3rd dividend increase I've received from WEC Energy Group since initiating a position in February 2018.  Total dividend growth over that time is quite good at 22.6%.

This increase raises my YOC to 4.54%.

Thursday, January 22nd the Board of Directors of Intel Corporation (INTC) announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.33 to $ 0.3475 per share that’s payable March 1, 2021 to holders of record February 7, 2021. This represents a 5.3% increase over the last quarterly dividend.

With current price $ 62.46 (yesterday's close), this raise brings their dividend yield to 2.23%.

INTC is a Dividend Challengers with a 6 year streak of dividend increases. Dividend growth rates for 1, 3, 5 and 10 years are 4.8, 7.0, 6.6 and 7.7 (Dividend Champions.xls)

Since I own 400 shares of INTC, this will increase my portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 20.86.

I was expecting a dividend of 0.345, so the increase was slightly higher than expected.

This is the 7th dividend increase I've received from Intel Corporation since initiating a position in September 2012. Total dividend growth over that time is moderate at 54.4%.

This increase raises my YOC to 6.18%.
