As an owner of 75 shares of Aflac, the recent dividend increase adds $6.71 to my projected annual net dividend income.

I was expecting an increase of around ten percent, so this announcement was a slight disappointment, but I am still happy to accept it.

This marks the sixth dividend increase I’ve received from Aflac since initiating my position in August 2020. During that time, the company’s quarterly dividend has risen from $0.28 to $0.61 per share — a strong cumulative increase of 117.9%.

As of this writing, Aflac represents approximately 0.98% of my portfolio by weight and contributes around 0.50% to my projected annual dividend income.

Following this increase, my yield on cost is 6.45%.
