- Neste Corporation (NESTE) acquires minority stake in Alterra Energy; Companies partnering to commercialize Alterra’s waste plastic liquefaction technology in Europe
- McDonald's Corporation (MCD) will begin selling its new crispy chicken sandwich on February 24, 2021 as the company hopes to take market share from Popeyes (QSR) and Chick-fil-A chains.
January 5, 2021
- AbbVie Inc. (ABBV) announces positive results for Skyrizi from two Phase 3 studies in adults with active psoriatic arthritis. The drug showed significant improvements in patients compared to those receiving the placebo.
January 6, 2021
- AmerisourceBergen (ABC) and Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) Announce Strategic Transaction; ABC has agreed to acquire the majority of Walgreens Boots Alliance's Alliance Healthcare businesses for approximately $6.5 billion. The deal includes $6.275 billion in cash and 2 million shares of AmerisourceBergen. The transaction is expected to close by the end of AmerisourceBergen's fiscal year 2021.
January 7, 2021
- Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA) Reports Fiscal 2021 First Quarter Results; WBA reports first quarter of fiscal 2021 adjusted EPS of $1.22, a 10.9% decrease from the previous year but $0.18 better than expected. Revenue grew 5.7% to $36.3 billion, topping estimates by $1.29 billion.
- Duke Energy Corporation (DUK) buys Texas solar project from Canadian Solar; Duke Energy Renewables, a subsidiary of Duke Energy (DUK), is expanding its solar energy portfolio by acquiring the 144-megawatt (MWac) Pflugerville Solar project from Recurrent Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc.
January 8, 2021
- Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) Provides Update on Acacia Acquisition; CSCO announced that it is seeking confirmation from the Delaware Court of Chancery that it has met all conditions for closing of its acquisition of Acacia Communications (NASDAQ: ACIA), including approval of China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR).
