Recent Buy - Royal Bank of Canada (NYSE:RY, TSE:RY)

22nd August 2014 I Bought 30 shares of Royal Bank of Canada (TSE: RY) at CA$80.69 per share plus commission.

Royal Bank of Canada, a diversified financial service company, provides personal and commercial banking, wealth management, insurance, investor, and capital markets products and services worldwide. The company’s Personal & Commercial Banking segment provides personal and business financial services, and cards and payment solutions. This segment offers a suite of financial products and services to individual and business clients through branch, automated teller machines, online, and telephone banking networks, as well as through proprietary sales professionals. Its Wealth Management segment provides investment, trust, banking, credit, and other wealth management solutions to affluent, high net worth, and ultra high net worth clients; and asset management products and services directly to institutional and individual clients, as well as through distribution channels and third-party distributors.

I will gather together important and interesting news and events over the last weeks related to my portfolio holdings. Dividend Increase – Altria Group Inc. (MO)

Today Altria announces a quarterly dividend increase of from $0.48 to $0.52 per share that’s payable October 10, 2014 to holders of record September 15, 2014. This represents a 8.3% increase to regular quarterly dividends. This is the 48th dividend increase for Altria.

Altria is a Dividend Champions and has paid higher dividends consecutively for 44 years. With current price $42.60, this raise brings their dividend yield to 4.88%. 

Altria will remain in my portfolio and I’m currently holding it with no plans to accumulate more unless there is a big correction.

Since I own 175 shares this will increase my yearly net dividends by $20.86 . (~15.70€).

That increase rises my YOC to 6.18%

Recent Buy - McDonald's Corporation (MCD)

18th August 2014 I Bought 20 shares of MCD at $94.25 per share plus commission.

McDonald’s Corporation franchises and operates McDonald's restaurants in the United States, Europe, the Asia/Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, Canada, and Latin America. The company’s restaurants offer various food items, soft drinks, coffee, and other beverages, as well as breakfast menus. As of December 31, 2013, it operated 35,429 restaurants, including 28,691 franchised and 6,738 company-operated restaurants. The company was founded in 1940 and is based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
