On Thursday, August 22nd the Board of Directors of Altria Group, Inc. announced a quarterly dividend increase of from $ 0.80 to $ 0.84 per share that’s payable October 10, 2019 to holders of record September 16, 2019. This represents a 5.0% increase to regular quarterly dividends.
“We are extremely proud of Altria’s fifty-year history of
dividend growth,” said Howard Willard, Altria’s Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer. “Over the past half century, Altria has demonstrated its steadfast
commitment to rewarding shareholders despite numerous shifts in the tobacco
landscape. Today, we remain focused on our shareholders as we lead the industry
through a period of evolution.”
With current price $ 46.41 (Monday's close), this
raise brings their dividend yield to 7.24%.
Since I own 175 shares of MO, this will increase my
portfolio's projected annual net dividend income by $ 20.86.
This increase raises my YOC to 9.98%.
